Continuous Improvement Manager at Novelis in Uhrichsville, OH
Position Overview o Member of the Uhrichsville Works plant leadership team o Work closely with all aspects of the plant to facilitate the implementation of WCM. o Coordinate the loss intelligence phase of WCM within the plant, identifying and prioritizing improvement projects aligned to the business needs. o Develop, approve and implement the WCM Roadmap for the plant (improvement teams, audits, communication) o Lead at least one improvement team o Follow and favor the progress of the other teams o Alert in case of deviation (planning, results, etc.) o Learn and take over methods and tools at first and subsequently deliver professional training and coaching to enable employees at all levels to engage and contribute to the ZERO LOSS mentality. o Prepare and Support local steering committee o Report weekly on the program status o Promote the approach and ensure appropriation at the site at every hierarchical level o Train and develop employees in lean principles and the lean leader mindset o Assist in developing metrics and return on investment (ROI) before recommending projects to determine business expectations. o Organize and facilitate kaizen / rapid improvement events as needed, coach others in kaizen and RIE skills for facilitation o Analyze highly complex production and processes. Partner with key business stakeholders to identify opportunities, present ideas, and make recommendations based upon analysis to further business goals Responsibilities & Qualifications Responsibilities Construct and implement system audits that will indicate whether improvements are sustained and all plant teams are engaged with the program. Stay as a continuous improvement expert at the site and group levels (referent, trainer, etc) Set up the Pillars Management, lead regular coordination meetings to follow the results Contribute to the definition of standards, norms and best practices for manufacturing management and performance measurement and set them up Accumulate the knowledge and acquired experience Play a key role in the local change management and the cultural transformation of the site. Participate in WCM coordination events and share with counterparts in the WCM community and organization. Identify and promote best practices on the site to integrate them to the group best practices. EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study required. Engineering degree preferred. EXPERIENCE o Minimum 10 years in operations leadership function o High degree of understanding of WCM management system, with experience in leading multiple Pillars and improvement projects. o Experience in businesses similar to Novelis, preferably in the metal industry. o Six Sigma or Lean black belt? training/certification or Lean certification required, includes both education and the hands on ability to lead teams and implement improvements. o Project management skills o Proven ability to successfully manage cross functional teams, and implement improvement within an established time frame, then sustain improvements. o High energy, data driven, and results oriented. o Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills and organization skills, must be comfortable teaching and presenting to large groups at all levels of the organization from shop floor to senior leadership
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
